Strength Through Our Community Association

Now with almost 2,500 Facebook followers and several hundred members

The TV Harrison Association has grown into a force to be reckoned with. The association has no political affiliations and has one aim, to turn back the years of neglect by the city council and it’s appointed trustees to restore the ground to its former glory.

With an ambitious yet achievable business plan in place we want to see this valued inner city green site become once again a centre for all sports. Unlike many council provided pitches it’s a level field without any steep gradients around the sides and is protected from wind due to its location.

Longer term we are intending to make this a community centre for all the community both young & old. A dedicated centre building which would double up as a sports changing room. We the community aim to create a feasible community space open to everyone. With the focus on physical health & wellbeing, mental health, education for all and community unity.

Additionally planting a green area with trees and shrubbery where children from the local schools can visit to better understand the nature around them.

Build it and they will come

Even in the Grounds Current Condition its Better Than Most Council Pitches

Even in the grounds current condition it is already heavily used by the community as existing parklands are neither safe nor practical. We have close ties with the local Parish and this is demonstrated and embraced by its usage every Wednesday by the Wortley Methodist Church Brownies Group and others. Every Saturday we have our kiddywinks free football sessions which is positioned for children who cannot afford the fees associated with local sporting groups.

However, this does not exclude other children, thus endorsing the original principles that the TVH ground was left for the children of Leeds to practice sporting activities
